Watching a top show dog can be an exciting experience, perhaps never to be forgotten by the handler and the spectator. It is exhilarating and moving to see an animal in absolute peak condition displaying all the qualities for which he has been bred. No dog is perfect, but he must be as near to perfection as can be as he goes round the ring in unison with his handler – standing and gaiting together, moving as one. His character and temperament should make him ooze with confidence and happiness – he could not and would not be in this company, however good his conformation, if he did not enjoy the job in hand.
